4th of July Celebrations, Parades, Festivals – South Bay

Here’s the schedule of events I was able to find for you for free South Bay Fourth of July 2010 activities. Disclaimer: not all the events around the Bay are well publicized, so I do my best to dig up the information wherever I can find it. (Send me a link if I left anything out or if something changes.)

Aptos: 4th of July Parade – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 10 am, World’s Shortest Parade; Pancake Breakfast 7:30am – 10am; Party in the Park 11am – 4 pm, Aptos City Park. [FREE or $5 donation]

Cupertino: Fourth of July Children’s Parade & Celebration -  Sunday, July 4, 2010.  7am – 9:30am Breakfast at the Quinlan Community Center; 10am Parade with family concert to follow; 6:45pm musical entertainment at Creekside Park, Hyde Middle School or Sedgwick Elementary. Fireworks begin at 9:30pm. Quinlan Community Center and Memorial Park, Cupertino, CA. [FREE]

Los Gatos: 4th of July Celebrations – Sunday, July 4th, 2010, 11 am – 7 pm. Live music, dancing, BBQ. Town of Los Gatos Civic Center – 110 E. Main Street, Los Gatos, CA. [FREE]

Milpitas: Red, White and Boom Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 1 pm – 10 pm. Pool party (at the Sports Center) and ground fireworks. Cardoza Park (Park Victoria and Kennedy), Milpitas, CA. [FREE]

Morgan Hill: 4th of July Parade, Celebration & Fireworks – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Pre-Parade Car Cruise & Entertainment 10:45 am (Downtown Morgan Hill & along parade route); 4th of July Parade 11:00 am sharp (starts in Downtown Morgan Hill); Fireworks after dark. Morgan Hill Community Park. [FREE]

Palo Alto: 29th Annual Summer Festival & Chili Cook-off – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Live music, line dancing, kids’ activities, and food. (Chili tasting starts at 1:30pm). Mitchell Park, 600 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto, CA.

Santa Clara: July 4th All City Picnic – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Breakfast, entertainment, music, carnival games, face painting, swimming, food. Fireworks display at 9:30pm. Central Park in Santa Clara.[FREE]

San Jose: July 4th Fireworks celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Fireworks after dark on the San Jose State University East Field (next to Spartan Stadium) or at the Soccer Fields (both open at 5 pm). Parking $8. San Jose Municipal Stadium, 10th Street and Alma, San Jose, CA. [FREE]

San Jose: Rose, White and Blue Parade and Festival – July 4, 2010, 10 am to 5 pm. Travels through the Rose Garden neighborhood and ends on The Alameda (919 The Alameda).  Arts & Music Festival w/ live music on two stages, inflatable kids park, classic car show, arts and crafts, multicultural food, beer & wine garden and games. [FREE]
