Solano Stroll 2011: Free

Solano Stroll (September 11) is the East Bay’s largest street festival, promising 26 blocks of free fun along Solano Avenue in Berkeley and Albany. The event’s theme is “Unsung Heroes”, and it kicks off with a theme parade of about 100 groups.

After the parade, you can enjoy food booths, entertainers, juried arts and crafters, games, wacky art cars, and almost 200 community organizations. Stop by the Green Zone, or take the family to the special area set aside just for kids, featuring giant slides, carnival games, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, face painters, magicians, and maybe even wizards and elves.

WHERE: The Alameda and Marin Ave, Berkeley, CA 94707.

SAVVY TIP: Free shuttles run 10AM-7PM from the North Berkeley BART station to Marin Avenue which runs parallel, one block South of Solano Avenue.
