Skiing On The Cheap – Free Lift Tickets/Discounts

Skiers and sliders, you’re going to love this BOGO deal. Starting January 4, 2010, you can get one free lift ticket when you buy another adult lift ticket — just for pumping 10 gallons of gas at a Shell station. That’s 50% off!

This works for skiing at Northstar at Tahoe and Sierra at Tahoe, and ski slopes in a few other states as well. You can even gas up at a Shell station in your home state, and use the voucher for a free lift ticket in another.

Along with the Tahoe, California slopes, the Shell lift ticket discount is also valid for varying dates in Oregon (Hoodoo, Mt. Ashland, Ski Anthony Lakes); Colorado (Monarch Mountain, Powderhorn); more than a dozen ski slopes in Michigan, and a few in Washington and Idaho.

WHAT’S THE DEAL: BOGO (buy one get one free) SKI FREE lift ticket for pumping 10 gallons of gas at Shell Stations.

HOW: Redeem this exchange voucher (click on a state) and carefully follow directions for validation. See skifreedeals.com for details. Here’s the list of participating Shell stations. (Read the fine print carefully for instructions and specific resort restrictions. Then get ready to shred the slopes.)

WHEN: Starting January 4, 2010, for skiing Sunday through Friday, from January 4, 2010 through April 16, 2010 (or until ski areas close for the season), excluding holidays and the blackout dates 1/16-18, 2/13-15.

WHERE: In California – Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe. Also good at certain resorts in Colorado, Oregon, Michigan and elsewhere, but check specific dates.

Here’s a heads up on even more ways to save at Tahoe
