San Francisco Running Tours – Free

Achilles Tours gives the phrase “running around the city” a new twist. They give unique running tours of San Francisco, and offer a FREE “mystery fun run,” at a leisurely pace, every second Friday of every month.

“We tell everyone where and when to meet, and the distance and difficulty level of the run, but we don’t tell them where we’re heading,” says Adam Zelazny, one of the Achilles chief running officers. “We pick destinations and sights that many locals have never seen or been to before,” says Zelazny. After the tour, runners head to a nearby watering hole for some post run re-hydration. Everyone is invited.

September 10, 2010 Mystery Fun Run: Achilles Tours teams up with the Presidio Sports Basement who will offer free drinks (Yes FREE beer), free wine, free juice and free snacks after the run. Everyone who makes the run will also get a 20% off store voucher.

Other running tour options include downtown runs, bridge tour runs, park tour runs, happy hour runs, urban workout runs, or customized runs, with prices starting at $25. Group/family discounts are available. The company caters to runners of all ages and capabilities and accommodates anyone who wants to experience San Francisco “to the bottom of their soles,” says Zelazny.

WHAT’S THE DEAL: Achilles Tours FREE Friday Night Running Tours every second Friday of the month.

DEAL 2: Discounts rates are available for groups of 4 or more and also a special family rate for groups of 2 adults and 2 children. (Contact Achilles Tours for details and reservations.)

WHEN/WHERE: Running tours meet at various times and places around the city. More info at AchillesTours.com or their Facebook or twitter pages, or 920-786-8687.
