The theme of the 2009 San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade is the timely “In Order to Form a More Perfect Union.” This 39th anniversary event promises to provide over 200 parade contingents, 300 exhibitors, and more than a dozen community-run stages and venues, making the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade the largest gathering of LGBT people and allies in the nation.
DEAL: The Pride Celebration and Parade is FREE and open to all. But consider making a $5 donation to the Pride’s Community Partners Program at the entrance gate.
WHEN: June 27 and 28, 2009.
- Celebration – noon – 6pm on Saturday, June 27. Sunday, June 28, noon – 7 pm.
- Parade – Sunday, June 28, 10:30 am
WHERE: Celebration at the Civic Center Plaza, San Francisco, CA. The parade travels west along Market Street from Beale to 8th St (map on the website).
HOW: Forget finding a place to park nearby. The organizers recommend taking public transportation (BART or Muni).
