San Francisco Fleet Week, Blue Angels & Exhibits – Free

Fleet Week 2009 Blue AngelsJoin in the celebration of the men and women of our armed forces during San Francisco Fleet Week 2009, a spectacular weekend family event featuring the Navy Blue Angels, a Parade of Navy ships and other exciting demonstrations.

Along with the Blue Angels survey flights and Parade of Fleet Week Naval ships, events will include: Ship Tours, a Navy in Space Exhibit at Fort Mason, and an Italian Heritage Day Parade. Fleet Week events on Sunday at PIER 39 include a Concert Series with Live Bands, Blue Angel Autographs, and an 80′s Dance Party.

WHERE: You can see the show from several San Francisco, CA locations, such as Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Angel Island Ferry, San Francisco Airport (SFO), Telegraph Hill, Aquatic Park, Crissy Field.

TIP: The San Francisco Festival Lovers Group on Facebook and the ElevationSF (20s-40s Hiking Group) are planning an Indian Summer Potluck Picnic to meet new people during Fleet Week, and to watch the Blue Angels from a great vantage point — at West Bluff Picnic Area in the Presidio on the far west side of Chrissy Fields, near the Warming Hut (with beautiful view of Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay). They’re even talking carpools to avoid parking problems. Check them out.
