SF Chamber Orchestra Family Concerts – Free

If you live with any little orchestra conductors, budding musicians, or ballet babies, you won’t want to miss these free San Francisco Chamber Orchestra Family Concerts, starting in November 2010 (Also see Very First Concert on Oct. 24). The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and the San Francisco Ballet School will debut “Music & Dance” in three new Bay Area venues: the Lakeside Theater in Oakland, San Mateo’s Bayside Performing Arts Center, and San Francisco’s storied Bayview Opera House.

“Music & Dance” will include works by Béla Bartók and Peter Warlock, with the phenomenal young dancers of the SF Ballet School performing choreography to the music of Handel and Vivaldi. SFCO professionals will be joined on stage by student musicians from the SF School of the Arts, Oakland School for the Arts, the Crowden School, and the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra – putting the Bay Area’s best young talent up in the spotlight to inspire Bay Area youth.
