At the San Francisco Botanical Garden plant sales, you can shop for native plants or just browse the wide variety of plants available for sale, many exclusive to the SF Botanical Garden’s Nursery.
These sales offer amazing opportunities to buy plants you rarely find at commercial nurseries or garden centers. The annual Spring Sale is coming up on May 6, 2011 (for members) and May 7, 2011 (for everyone).
The Botanical Garden is free for San Francisco County residents, including the plant sales, however, nonresidents must now pay an admission fee, except on the free days (details below). Nonresidents pay admission to enter the Botanical Garden plant sales, but the fee is subtracted from your first purchase.
FREE DAYS: San Francisco Botanical Garden — FREE ADMISSSION on the second Tuesday of every month as well as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Always Free for San Francisco County residents.
PLANT SALES: San Francisco Botanical Garden Plant Sales are free for San Francisco residents. Even though non-resident visitors now pay admission to enter the Botanical Garden, the admission fee is subtracted from the price of a plant purchase equal to or greater than the admission paid. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 to $5 for children or $15 for families (2 adults and 1+ child).
WHERE: San Francisco Botanical Garden Nursery, Golden Gate Park, 9th Avenue at Lincoln Way, San Francisco, CA. The Nursery is located in the southwest corner of the Gardens, a five minute walk from the Main Gate at Ninth Avenue at Lincoln Way.
