Power to the Peaceful Festival – Free

For a free day of music, art, and fun, join 70,000 people this Saturday (September 12) at the “Power to the Peaceful” Festival & Concert in San Francisco’s beautiful, green tree lined Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park. Along with an art gallery and live graffiti, the even has a stellar lineup of musicians.

The venue’s main stage features Michael Franti and Spearhead, Alanis Morissette, Sly & Robbie, Cherine Anderson , Vieux Farka Toure’, Sellassie,  Truth Universal, and Namkha Rinpoche with a personal message from the Dalai Lama. Popular DJ’s will populate the Open Air DJ Tent.

The Kid Zone will have it’s own bands (Jaden, PopLyfe, Gabby La La, Peace Outs, Bird School PTTP Band, Bay Area Girls & Sustainable Living Roadshow), plus Conscious Carnival Games, Daily Acts flag painting, Face painting, A chill tent for feeding and napping, Puppets and tons of fun nestled into the most peaceful festival on the planet.

From 9-11am you can join “1000 Yogis for Peace”, the Power to the Peaceful Morning Yoga Practice.

DEAL: Power to the Peaceful Festival is Free. (They do ask for $5 donation – but no one is turned away.)

WHEN: Saturday September 12, 2009, 9am – 5pm. (The event continues with music and workshops on Sunday for a $20 fee.)
