4th of July Fireworks, Parades, Celebrations – Peninsula

paradeHere are a few free activities happening on the Peninsula for Independence Day, July 4th, 2010. I’m sure there’s more fun to be had for free or on the cheap but this list will get you started. (Have something to add? Please share):

Redwood City: Redwood City Parade & Festival – Sunday, July 4, 2010, festival 9 am – 5 pm; parade 10 am. Parade starts at Corner of Brewster & Winslow in Redwood City, CA (no fireworks). [FREE]

Foster City: Foster City Fourth of July Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 8am – 9:45pm, Stars and Stripes Dog Show 2 – 3:30p; FIREWORKS SHOW 9:30pm sharp. Leo J. Ryan Park, Foster City, CA. FREE Parking for this year’s event will be offered at the Parkside Towers Parking Garage located at the corner of E. Hillsdale and Shell Blvds. [FREE]

Half Moon Bay: Half Moon Bay Fourth of July Parade & Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Parade down Main Street at noon, live music 1 to 4 pm; Red, White and Blues Barbecue at the Coastside Adult Day Health Center starting at 11 am. Live Music picnic and festivities all afternoon at the American Legion (Pillar Point Harbor, down the road from the Brewing Company). No fireworks. [FREE]

Montara: Annual Sand-n-Surf 4th of July Vegan Food Party & Picnic – Eat vegan foods, design a sandcastle on Montara State Beach, Montara, CA. [FREE]

Pacifica: 36th Annual Fourth of July Celebration – Sunday, July 4th from 11 am to 4 pm. Live music, games, and other festival activities. Frontierland Park in Pacific. Yosemite Dr. at Humboldt Ct, Pacifica, CA. [FREE]

Palo Alto: 29th Annual Summer Festival & Chili Cook-off – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Live music, line dancing, kids’ activities, and food. (Chili tasting starts at 1:30pm). Mitchell Park, 600 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto, CA.

Pescadero: 12th annual Independence Day barbecue – Barbecued oysters and other delicacies at 12 noon food & drink, fun and pony rides all day. The Cookhouse 1419 Pescadero Creek Road, Pescadero,CA. [FREE]
