Oakland Children’s Holiday Parade: Free

The Oakland Holiday Parade in downtown Oakland (December 3, 2011) is one of the premier children’s parades in the country. More than 100,000 spectators are expected to attend. Favorite highlights will include giant helium balloons, favorite cartoon and storybook characters, marching bands, decorated floats, and Santa.

“Joining the parade this year will be a full lineup of children’s favorite stars including from PBS KIDS; Miss Rosa, Mr. Steve, the Cat in the Hat, Sid the Science Kid, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Arthur and more! Some other children’s stars joining us include; the Power Rangers, Garfield, Care Bears, Spot the Dog and more …”

Or if you want to avoid the crowd, watch the parade from home in the San Francisco Bay Area on KTVU-FOX 2, KICU 36, KQED-PBS, KTEH-PBS, and Peralta TV.
