The Art in Storefronts kick-off event in The Mission is an opportunity to see original art installations by San Francisco artists — and it’s free. The artwork is temporarily hosted in vacant storefront windows in San Francisco to engage local artists in reinvigorating neighborhoods and commercial corridors that have been hard-hit by the economic downturn.
The Art in Storefronts event also gives artists hit hard by the economy a way to showcase their creativity. Art in Storefronts is a pilot program in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Triple Base Gallery.

WHEN: Friday, November 20, 2009 from 7- 10 pm. Formal remarks by project partners will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by an unveiling of the window installations and art walk with the artists. Light refreshments.
