Left Coast Live in downtown San Jose (June 21-26, 2010) will feature more than 100 live bands. The Monday through Thursday events are free and open to the public. And you can get tickets to Friday and Saturday concerts for $5 cheaper if you buy them online in advance: only $15 ($20 at the door).

“6 days, 20 Stages and 100 bands — Left Coast Live is a week-long music experience that showcases more than 100 local, regional and national live acts in 20 downtown San Jose venues centered in the SoFA district. The event starts with the “Sound of Things to Come” music discussion series that includes film screenings, preview concerts and more, and then culminates in a two-day live music festival with interactive events for all ages.”

Headliners: Yo La Tengo, Ok Go, Neon Trees, Crash Kings, Free Energy, Big Jay McNeely, Lisa Dewey & The Lotus Life, J*DaVeY, The Legendary Stardust Cowboy, Doctor Nurse, Kung Fu Vampire, Northern Son, Lagos Roots Afro-Beat Ensemble, Darondo.

WHAT’S THE DEAL: Left Coast Live events are free for Monday through Thursday events. (Admission for the Friday and Saturday evening concerts are $15 for an advanced purchase ticket and $20 at the door each night.)
