Leap Sandcastle Contest at Ocean Beach – Free
The Sandcastle Contest at Ocean Beach is Northern California’s largest sandcastle building event. The contest is open to the public, free of charge, and supported by the local construction industry, including architects, engineers, and contractors who come together to support arts education in Bay Area schools.
Leap hosts this spirited competition between teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers and local elementary school students each October at Ocean Beach. Leap…imagination in learning is a local nonprofit organization that was established in response to severe cuts in California arts-education funding following the passage of Proposition 13 in 1979.
DEAL: The Sandcastle Contest is a fundraiser, but admission is FREE.
WHEN: October 3, 2009, 10am – 4pm.
WHERE: Ocean Beach, just south of the Cliff House (Balboa Ave and The Great Highway), San Francisco, CA.
