Tech Museum Of Innovation – Free Days & Discounts
Where else but in Silicon Valley would you find a museum devoted solely to tech innovation? San José’s Tech Museum of Innovation presents over 240 hands-on science and technology exhibits and themed galleries, including a new exhibit called the Virtual Test Zone, the world’s first virtual-world-to-real-world gallery. The hands-on, interactive exhibit was developed in the virtual world of Second Life.
Other exhibits include Untamed Images, showcasing the digital wildlife photography of Silicon Valley engineer-turned-photographer Michael Pollack; the IDEA House, now with more zany kitchen gizmos; and a try-it-yourself Segway Human Transporter section.
DEAL 1: Tech Museum of Innovation is free on the Second Sundays of every month, with unlimited gallery admission.
DEAL 2: Bank of America Cardholders get in free during “Museums On Us” free museum days, the first full weekend of every month. (IMAX and Star Trek exhibit are extra).
DEAL 3: The visitcalifornia.com website has a BOGO (buy one get one free) coupon valid through 1/31/2011.
DEAL 4: AAA Discount – Members get $3 off regularly priced general admission. General admission is $8 for all ages. To receive discount, you must mention AAA, CAA, or the name of your participating international motor club when calling for appointments or reservations and provide your valid membership number at time of purchase.
DEAL 5: Library Discount – Show your current library card at any branch of the San José Public Library System and get into the museum for $3 per person (nearly 60% off). They’ll give you a special discount pass for up to 5 people. (Passes are first come first served and do not include IMAX Theater and Star Trek Exhibit admission.)
