Here’s an idea that’s bound to be a better deal than it sounds: The “Give Two, Take One” swap and clothing drive on Saturday, April 17, at the Academy of Art University’s 79 Gallery. Surely someone will say a “give one take two” event sounds better. But who doesn’t have two things just waiting for the right excuse? And it benefits a good cause.
The G2T1 event, hosted by Beyond the Front Row (the University’s fashion club) and the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco, accepts donations of clothing, jewelry, shoes and other accessories (hats, scarves, gloves, belts, handbags) in excellent condition. For every two items you donate, you get one ticket to swap for something free and potentially fantastic. All remaining items will be donated to St. Vincent’s.
At the event you can also visit a Beauty Bar and Style Lab, and enter a free raffle to win a VIP ticket ($150 value) to the April 29 auction “Discarded to Divine,” all while listening to live jazz music by The Sebastian Parker Trio.
WHAT’S THE DEAL: [EXPIRED] The Give Two Take One Clothing Swap/Donation event is free (or $2 if you don’t donate). Drop-off items in advance (recommended) or at the event.
