Fremont Festival of the Arts – Free
The 2010 Fremont Festival of the Arts (July 31 – August 1) is not only free, they call the east Bay event “the largest free street festival west of the Mississippi River.” The Fremont Festival features two full days of the usual festival food, music, artists, booths, kids activities, a gourmet marketplace, a wine garden, and more.
But what you really want to know is how to negotiate the traffic — yes, parking near the action will be close to impossible. I suggest public transit at least part of the way.
Getting There
BART – Take a BART train to the Fremont station. (Fremont’s central BART station is two blocks from the Festival.)
Capitol Corridor/ACE – The Capitol Corridor/ACE trains will run on their weekend schedule.
AC Transit/VTA – Buses all stop at the Fremont BART station, two blocks from the Festival.
WHAT’S THE DEAL: The 2010 Fremont Festival of the Arts is free.
WHEN: Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1, 2010, 10 am to 6 pm both days.
WHERE: Central Fremont, Between Paseo Padre Pkwy & Fremont Blvd, and between Mowry Ave & Walnut Ave.
