4th of July Fireworks, Parades, Celebrations – East Bay

Looking for FREE Fourth of July fireworks, parades, and family celebrations in the East Bay? Me too. I looked around and found the following info for 2010. This is not a comprehensive list. If you know of another (or a correction), I’d be happy to post it here, as long as it’s free.

Alameda: 4th of July Parade - July 4th, 2010. Alameda Race starts at 9:45 am (www.alamedarace.com), Parade starts at 10am, down Lincoln at Webster, Alameda, CA; Jumpin’ & Jivin’ Jubilee noon – 4:00pm. [FREE]

Antioch: 4th of July Parade – Sunday July 4, 2010, 1pm, Somersville Towne Center, Antioch, CA. [FREE]

Benicia: Torchlight ParadeJuly 3rd, 2010, 6:30 pm. Benicia’s Independence Day parade stretches along First Street and includes music, dancers, floats, horse’s clowns, and entertainment. [FREE]

Berkeley: 4th of July Celebration – July 4, 2010, noon-10am; live entertainment from noon until 9pm on the main stage and entertainers in smaller venues around the marina. Free sailboat rides from 1-4pm, dragon boat rides from 2-6pm. Fireworks off the end of the Berkeley Pier at 9:30pm. South Shore of the Berkeley Marina. [FREE]

Concord: 4th of July Parade & Festival – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Pancake Breakfast: 8 am. Parade 11:30 am. Festival in the park after the parade;  Entertainment and live music until 3pm.  Todos Santos Plaza, Concord, CA. [FREE]

Danville: 4th of July Parade – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 11am – 2pm. The parade route runs from the corner of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue, continues down Hartz and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, and ends at the corner of San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Road. Downtown Danville, 400 Hartz Ave, Danville, CA. [FREE]

El Ceritto: Fourth of July Celebration – July 4th, 2010, 10am – 6pm. Rides, carnival games, live music, food. Cerrito Vista Park, El Ceritto, CA. [FREE]

Fremont: 4th of July Parade - Sunday, July 4th, 2010, 10am, Mission San Jose District, Mission Blvd. to Washington Blvd., Ellsworth St. and Pine Street, Fremont, CA. [FREE]

Hayward: 4th of July Family Festival & Picnic – Sunday, July 4th, 2010, 11am – 3pm. Old-fashioned kids games and a History Hunt around the park. Free live music by The Banjo Racketeers. Bring your own family picnic, or hot dogs and soda will be available for sale. Meek Park, 240 Hampton Road, Hayward, CA. [FREE]

Martinez: 4th of July Parade & Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 9am-4pm. Pancake breakfast 8am; Parade begins at 10am along Main St; live music from 11:30-4pm. Downtown Martinez, CA. [FREE]

Oakland: 4th of July Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 12pm – 4pm. Food, live Blues Bands, DJ, Wine Bar, Kinetic Art’s Youth Circus Troupe, Petting Zoo, Farmers’ Market, Artisan’s Marketplace (no fireworks). Jack London Square, Oakland, CA. [FREE]

Orinda: Annual July 4th Parade & Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Parade starts at 11am. Floats, live music, marching bands, skits, clowns, animals, tots to octogenarians all participate in the parade, preceded and followed by special events like a fun run, pancake breakfast, food, game & information booths in the park, as well as live music.

Pittsburg: 4th of July Fireworks Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010. Old Town Pittsburg Fireworks Show at dusk at Pittsburg Marina. [FREE]

Pleasanton: Fourth of July Concert & Celebration – Sunday, July 4, 2010, 12:30-2 pm. Concert by the Pleasanton Community Concert Band at Lions Wayside Park.

Pleasant Hill: 4th of July Fireworks Celebration – July 4, 2010. Firecracker 5K Fun Run 7:30 am; Parade starts at 9:30 am; Fun & Games in the Park 10:30 am–2:30; Fireworks 9 pm at College Park High School. Music from the Diablo Valley College POPS Band. [FREE]

San Ramon: Red, White & Blue Picnic and Fireworks – Sunday, July 4th, 2010, 1pm-10pm. Fireworks display synchronized to music at 9:30 pm. If you’re not in Central Park, tune into KKIQ radio, 101.7 for the accompanying music. San Ramon Central Park, 12501 Alcosta Blvd. Fireworks aprox 9:30 pm. [FREE]

    5 Mile Run starts – 2 Mile Family Walk follows

    • 10:00 – 11:00 am
    Parade

    • 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
    Visit Haley’s Event Area by the tennis courts! There you will find great items to bid on at the Silent Auction and a free Home Depot Kids’ Workshop where kids can make their own wooden craft to take home. (All proceeds benefit the SUDC program!) There will also be live music, food, kids’ entertainers and more all taking place in the Orinda Community Park!

    5-Mile Run The 5-mile run will start at the flagpole in front of the Orinda Community Center. It is not an official course and will not be an officially timed event.

    2-Mile Family Walk Join your family and friends for a casual walk. Strollers are welcome! Walk in memory of your child. We would like to recognize other bereaved parents and their children. When you register, please let us know if you would like to wear a special colored t-shirt in memory of your child. It will be waiting for you the day of the event.
