Oakland’s annual EarthEXPO 2011
WHAT: (FREE) A lunchtime environmental fair and the East Bay’s lead-off event connected to Earth Day.

John Muir Birthday–Earth Day Celebration

Foster City Earth Day Fair 2011
WHAT: (FREE) live music, kid’s activities and entertainment, a variety of vendors showcasing green products, and a freecycle area.

Create-With-Nature Earth Day Celebration on Stinson Beach
WHAT: (FREE) A free event (and volunteer beach clean-up) where the public, including professional artists, create sculptures on the beach out of sand, rocks, shells, and other natural objects. Musicians, dancers, and artists provide entertainment. Pack a picnic lunch. Takes place rain or shine.

Earth Day Fair in Santa Rosa
WHAT: (FREE) Family activities, food, live music, eco-friendly crafts, booths, and volunteer opportunities, local vendors, and environmental organizations.

Earth Day at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo (was Coyote Point Museum)

Earth Stroll 2011 — An Earth Day Celebration at Crissy Field
WHAT: (UPDATE, THIS EVENT IS FREE) Interactive family adventure with activity stations, eco-games and animals antics. Earth Stroll will go on rain or shine. Meet live animals, play parachute games, and test your riding skills in a bike rodeo. The event is free, open to all ages, and highlights simple things you can do to create a healthier planet—and a healthy you. Donate $5 and receive a special Crissy Field 10th Anniversary Commemorative Passport. This is an official event of National Park Week.

Pacifica Earth Day Action and Celebration
WHAT: Cleanup and restoration activities will be happening at sites throughout Pacifica and along the coast. After the action we’ll have a big celebration at Linda Mar beach with live music by Pollo del Mar, guest speakers including Lincoln Shaw of Whale Wars, and local dignitaries. There will be environmental booths and hands on activities for people of all ages (including face painting, chair massages, pilates on the beach, knock down litter bowling, etc.).
This year we dedicate our Earth Day efforts to the majestic California Gray Whale.
WHEN: Saturday, April 16, 2011, 9am-11:30am ACTION; 11:30am -3:30pm CELEBRATION
