Art In Storefronts 2011 features art installations temporarily place art in vacant store windows as a way to beautify these spaces and support local artists at the same time. Sponsored by the San Francisco Arts Commission, Art In Storefronts is a free activity where you can enjoy art, listen to music, and socialize with other art lovers on the cheap.
This year, the program will return to Central Market to add another layer of art activity to The ARTery Project. The first round of Art in Storefronts took place on Central Market Street, Taylor Street in the Tenderloin, Third Street in Bayview and Lower 24th Street in the Mission. The second took place in San Francisco’s Chinatown.
Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, The ARTery Project is a series of art events, fairs, installations, and performances taking place along Market Street between U.N. Plaza and 6th Street. View the press release by clicking here.
