The Best of the East Bay Party, produced by East Bay Express, will take place on August 7, 2009. The event celebrates everything great about the East Bay. Twenty bands will perform on six stages, including the Main Stage, with late-night Mistress of Ceremonies Odessa Lil and DJ stage hosted by the Oakland Faders.
According to co-sponsor Amoeba Records, Line-Up of bands includes: Goapele, Social Unrest, Dizzy Balloon, Souls of Mischief, Dyloot, Dresden & Johnston, and Mephisto Odyssey. The Professional Contact Sports Ring will host mixed martial arts, capoeria, and Lucha Libre. The Dai Style Lounge will feature more than 40 local, independent designers and host makeovers and a fashion show. Godspeed will give performance bike demos and Harley Davidson will show off their finest hogs in the Gearhead Garage.
What else? Light art performance by the Illuminated Corridor, live art demonstrations by Blick Art, an International Dance Stage, comedians, drag shows, and local restaurant vendors. And for all the kids that like to rock, there’s the Chabot Space & Science Center’s Kids’ Zone with a variety of fun hands-on activities and music from 5pm-9pm.
