Berkeley Kite Festival – Free

Berkeley Kite FestivalThe annual Berkeley Kite Festival at Cesar E. Chavez Park, at the Berkeley Marina (July 28 – 29, 2012) features high-flying kite activities of all kinds. Team Kite Ballet, Japanese-Style Rokkaku Kite Battle for the Skies, the Worlds Largest Octopus Kite, and 20,000 sq. ft. of Giant Creature Kites from New Zealand are just a few of the highlights. You’ll also find arts and crafts, festival food and music, including Taiko Drummers. Children will enjoy plenty of hands on activities.

WHAT’S THE DEAL: The Berkeley Kite Festival is FREE.

WHEN: July 28 – 29, 2012, 10am – 5pm.

CHEAP TIP: Park in the Marina all day for a flat rate of $10 per day. Includes shuttle service from the parking area to the Festival.
