SF First Thursdays Gallery Stroll – Free

Geary St Gallery (By: pbo31)

Many San Francisco art galleries stay open late every first Thursday of the month for a casual open house. The SF Thursday Night Gallery Strolls offers a great opportunity to meet local artists, drink wine, soak up the culture, and catch up with friends after work. You can also wander into some of the galleries that are typically open only by appointment. Some nights are more crowded than others with an interesting assortment of people. Go for the art, go for the people watching, or go to support the local artists. It’s all free.

DEAL: San Francisco First Thursday Art Walk is free.

WHERE: Various San Francisco galleries, most along Geary, Post, and Sutter. Check the San Francisco Art Dealers Association’s printable map and listing of galleries.  (Not all galleries open their doors every Thursday.)

WHEN: First Thursdays of every month. Hours vary by gallery, but most of the galleries open their doors from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.

  1. Thanks for the info! I’m actually new to the city and I was wondering how the art walk worked. I’m from Salt Lake and assumed the SF one would be way better than ours. I will try to make the early June one!

Thanks for this! I live in Phoenix and visit San Francisco several times a year, but wasn’t hip to the art walk here. I will definitely check it out tonight. Nice site! I just learned about it on FLX.
