Art & Soul Festival, Oakland: Advance Discount

The Annual Art & Soul festival in Oakland (August 20 – 21, 2011) features concerts on several stages by 40 national recording artists and Bay Area bands. See the lineup below. The festival has been named the Bay Area’s “best annual cultural event” by Oakland Magazine and Best Festival by East Bay Express. The SF Weekly added, “Art & Soul is dialed in to practically everything that makes Oakland great.”

Art & Soul Oakland showcases hundreds of artisan and vendor and food booths, and also provides a substantial Family Fun Zone complete with kiddie rides, children’s entertainment and free festival admission for ages 12 and under.

DEAL: Art & Soul Festival 2011 Advance Tickets are available directly from the event planners until Friday before the event. Discount tickets are $10 adults and $5 for seniors 65+ and youth 13-17. That’s a savings of $5 and $3 respectively. Children 12 and under Free.

WHEN: Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21, 2011.

WHERE: Downtown Oakland, centered in Frank Ogawa Plaza and City Center, encompassing 10 city blocks.

CHEAP TIP: Take public transportation, or park at The City Center West Garage at 12th & Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, which is open for free parking all day (max. capacity: 1000 cars). Limited street parking is also available. The Rotunda Parking Garage at 16th Street and San Pablo will be open from 10am to 7 pm. Expect a $5 flat fee for all day parking.
