The Annual White Elephant Sale in Oakland has been called the biggest and most fun rummage sale in Northern California. This free event takes place March 5 and 6, 2011.
Put on by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, the event packs a 96,000-square-foot warehouse with sporting goods, boutique items, books, furniture, art, electrical items, dishes, shoes, Hawaiian shirts, vintage and children’s clothing, toys, and more. All proceeds from the sale go to support programs and exhibitions at the Oakland Museum of California.

CHEAP TIP: Get there early and where comfortable shoes, and use the free shuttle service from the Fruitvale BART.
